Cara befriends Beatrix, a Wergen, who, as all Wergens, loves humans unconditionally. Over the course of the story, the nature of their friendship gets questioned, and both enter relationships (Beatrix getting tethered and eventually absorbed). |

Interestingly, I liked this story much more than the other Wergen stories so far. The story feels a bit richer with ideas to me (pretty much combining the elements introduced in previous Wergen stories), or possibly the ideas are just better composed. |
