It could have been a good "alternate history" story, but, alas, it is merlely a too long and boring story with unnecessary love story nonsense around a may-have-been-good plot: The author played around with changing "an object that did not change history" to "an object that changed a history that never happened". But, unfortunately, the author lacked good ideas and definitely did not write a good page-turner story around it. Ergo: Good initial idea, but bad author craftwork. Don't read :-( | |

I'm not a fan of steampunk in general but this is a quite nice story indeed. It's a bit esoteric at times but it somehow works well, as does the romantic sidestory. |
